This substantial commode, with its curved front and sides, known as a Montpellier commode, is made of solid walnut and is a Languedoc piece dating from the second half of the 18th century. The front features three drawers in three rows, without a visible crossbar, joined with dovetail joints, highlighting its high-quality, traditional construction. The drawers have a particularly elegant, continuous curve, characteristic of Montpellier pieces, which are more ornate than their Parisian counterparts.
