18th Century Marquetry Chest Of Drawers
One of the finest commodes we've had in our collection over the last five years.
French marquetry commode, 18th century.
Probably made in the Dauphiné region. Commodes from this region are characterized by their simple, slightly curved design, but are often inlaid with different types of wood.
This example is made of pine. It is inlaid with mahogany and satinwood. Charming detail: the top is inlaid with 4 small hearts.
Rests on black legs (probably not original).
Very good condition. Probably restored a few years ago.
Dimensions: 111 W x 65 D x 81 H
