Small Mahogany Display Cabinet, Louis XV-louis XVI Transitional Style – Early 20th Century
A beautiful mahogany display cabinet in the Transition style, glazed on all sides, enhanced by a curved glass door that gracefully follows the cabinet's elegant silhouette. The top is crowned with a red Maine marble slab, framed by a delicate openwork brass gallery, emphasizing the overall elegance. The upper frieze is richly adorned with a draped frieze accompanied by finely chiseled vegetal scrolls, lending the cabinet a theatrical and precious air. The uprights are decorated at the top with gilt bronze foliate drops, while each pane of glass is bordered by a delicately chiseled frieze. The foliate keyhole escutcheon, complete with its matching key, adds a touch of functional refinement. The lower rail is adorned with a perfectly balanced bronze scrollwork design, and the elegantly sculpted, cabriole legs are decorated along their entire edge, extending the decoration to the floor. The interior, composed of three levels, is fully lined with deep burgundy velvet, providing a sumptuous setting for your precious objects. This display cabinet brilliantly combines decorative splendor and refined craftsmanship, ideal for showcasing a collection in a sophisticated interior. ********Period: Early 20th Century.
