A beautiful Syrian screen with three hinged panels, crafted in a mashrabiya style using a finely turned wooden lattice. Each panel features a decorated central motif surmounted by an Arabic inscription. Below, four smaller panels and four small square openings (some of which are blocked) complete the design. These are topped with a highly openwork pediment and rest on carved feet. The entire piece is adorned with mother-of-pearl florets. The central panel has a curved opening in its center. This piece of Syrian origin dates from around 1900 and is in very good condition.
