Portrait of the Patron Saint of Avignon, Peter of Luxembourg (1369-1387), depicted in bust form wearing his cardinal's hat, with his donors placing their child under the patron saint's protection. This extremely rare work was acquired in Provence, in Barjac. The painting is on a walnut panel measuring 55.5 cm x 92.5 cm (excluding its original frame). * Condition: very good, see photos. ** I won't go into a history lesson, as collectors of this type of religious portrait know far more than I do.
