Exceptional Victorian "Tête à Tête" Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Set in the Orientalist Style. The service comprises a coffee pot, teapot, covered sugar bowl, and creamer/pitcher, each richly decorated (see photos). Each piece is also engraved with a monogram surmounted by a Count's coronet. The interiors of the sugar bowl and pitcher are vermeil (gold over silver). The teapot handle is covered with woven wicker. Hallmarks include the English standard (.925), hallmarks for London 1854, the hallmarks of the master silversmith John Samuel Hunt (received in 1844), and the full signature "Hunt & Roskell / Late Storr Mortimer" (Suppliers to the Court of England). The pieces are numbered. This exceptional and rare complete Orientalist service is in very good condition, having been serviced and cleaned by our silversmith, with only minor scratches from use.
