While this small work remains anonymous, it is nonetheless dated and a rare painted record of this discreet Périgord residence that once housed several crowned heads. The technique, most likely the application of oil paint with a palette knife, suggests earlier works by Prugent or Daniel in the region, without, however, being directly linked to them. The light and the mass of stones, which could be mistaken for a cliff, are nonetheless the most well-known view of the Château de Losse, perched on its spur overlooking the Vézère River.
