The composition is surmounted by a noble helmet in profile, with a lowered visor, adorned with a rich crest of flowing mantling painted in green, yellow, and orange, according to a decorative repertoire typical of 18th-century Montelupine production. The oval shield is divided: the first field features a regular checkerboard pattern; the second displays horizontal bands charged with repeated black elements on a white background, perhaps interpretable as chess pieces. The emblem is centered with a Florentine lily of intense blue, symbolizing a clear lineage or a claimed loyalty to the civic and political tradition of Florence. The outer frame of the shield is decorated with an elegant "scale" pattern painted in bright yellow with fine black outlines, which accentuate the overall rhythmic quality. At the base appears a small stylized shell, a recurring ornamental element in 18th-century Tuscan heraldic ceramics. The surface retains natural imperfections from firing and glazing, consistent with period craftsmanship and not detracting from the historical integrity or legibility of the work.
