Pair of large armchairs with wide, horseshoe-shaped backs. Beautiful carvings on the backs (Far Eastern philosophers and floral motifs). Formerly lacquered in red, traces of which are visible underneath. Huanghuali (rosewood) with a brown patina. Old repairs are visible (replaced legs, etc.). China, Qing Dynasty, late 19th century.
