Restoration Period Clock In Gilt And Patinated Bronze.
A bronze clock dating from the first third of the 19th century with a double patina. On the top is a gilt lion with paws on a sphere, one of the lions that once stood before the Villa Medici. Examples of this lion can be found throughout the world. The movement needs servicing; it lacks a pendulum, bell, and keys. One of the rear feet has been replaced with a wooden one instead of the original gilt bronze.
