Empire Style Gilt Bronze Candle Chandelier, 19th Century
A richly crafted and chased Empire-style chandelier in gilt bronze.
It illuminates with six candle arms.
The guilloché, faceted stem is attached to a central body adorned with eagles, tassels, and a chain of brass beads.
The original gilding is beautiful, though it shows some stains and verdigris in the background of the chasing.
One screw securing a light arm is not original (see photo).
We have chosen to leave it as a candle light, but electrification is possible as the arms are hollow (the holes for an electrical cable are very narrow).
A highly decorative and unusual chandelier.
Late 19th century, circa 1880.
Delivery in a wooden crate by carrier: €80 within France, €150 within the EU, and €500 for the rest of the world.
