Set Of Three Pieces In Satsuma-style Japanese Ceramic
A set of three pieces of Japanese Satsuma-style ceramic, comprising a baluster vase, a globular vase, and a covered box. These pieces are richly decorated with figurative scenes, traditional Japanese figures, floral motifs, and symbolic designs, executed in polychrome glazes enhanced with gilt details, characteristic of Satsuma production intended for export in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The subtle palette of beiges, browns, blues, and ochres, combined with a crackled ivory background, lends the set a great decorative elegance. The scenes are finely detailed, with a high quality of execution. Origin: Japan. Period: Late 19th – Early 20th century. Style: Satsuma. Technique: Earthenware / glazed and gilt ceramic.
