Small Marquetry Writing Table, Louis XVI Style – Second Half Of The 19th Century
A small Louis XVI style side table with a rosewood top featuring a mitered frame and a center panel of four rosewood leaves arranged in a butterfly wing pattern. The tabletop is edged with a rosewood band that extends beyond the edge, forming a recessed area. The apron incorporates two concealed side drawers. In keeping with the style of the top, all the sides of this desk are inlaid with rosewood surrounded by rosewood. This table rests on four tapered legs ending in brass sabots. This center table is particularly appealing for its size and elegant simplicity. ********Period: Second half of the 19th century. Excellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop.
