Bronze The God Pan At Rest "art Deco"
With this bronze, I will perform my last good deed of the year before embarking on the next, which I hope will be very harmonious for all of us… So, I resume the description of this bronze statue, on its black marble base since 1925 or 1930… After all his escapades, the god Pan laid down his reed flute and rested, obviously languidly, on his rock… This is how its creator, Victor Demanet, might have described his work. However, this statue, undoubtedly cast by the foundry of the Compagnie des Bronzes in Brussels, appears nowhere in my research. I can find no trace of any past sales, nor any catalogue raisonné of the artist, prolific though he was… mentioning it. Therefore: beautiful bronze statue, particularly rare.
