A very elegant pair of antique Louis XVI style gilt bronze wall sconces dating from the late 19th or very early 20th century. These single-arm sconces feature rich ornamentation: fluted shafts, garlands, acanthus leaves, and finely beaded candle holders. The overall effect is harmonious, balanced, and typical of the neoclassical style revived at the end of the 19th century. The bronze has a beautiful, warm, and authentic antique patina. The wiring is functional; a complete check would be necessary before installation. They have candle-type sockets. Perfect for enhancing a classic or Haussmannian interior, or for adding a touch of character to a more contemporary setting.
