Antique Turkmen Bukhara Oriental rug, entirely hand-knotted in wool, dating from the first half of the 20th century. This rug features the traditional repeating gül pattern typical of Turkmen production, set against a deep red background and framed by geometric borders. This is an authentic antique piece, retaining all the charm and patina of age. The overall condition is not perfect, as seen in the photographs: there are differences and nuances in color, inherent to its handcrafted nature and the original dye baths, wear and irregularities due to age and use, and the rug is slightly misshapen, without this detracting from its decorative appeal or authenticity. These characteristics attest to its age and history, and will appeal to lovers of non-standardized "vintage" rugs, looking for a piece with character rather than a new rug. A decorative rug with a strong ethnic feel, ideal for a warm, bohemian, or oriental atmosphere.
