Antique Solid Silver Minerva Wine Taster Adorned With A Token Bearing The Profile Of Marie Antoinette By Loos
Superb solid silver tastevin, hallmarked with the Minerva mark. It is adorned in its center with a silver token by Loos, dating from the late 18th century and depicting Marie Antoinette in profile. Daniel Friedrich Loos (1735-1819). The token has most likely been polished to erase the inscriptions and retain only the Queen's bust. The silver mount is later, most likely from the late 19th century. 9.7 cm long / 5.7 cm wide / 2 cm high. Weight: 54 grams / token diameter: 3 cm. Visible in the last photo: a similar token in original condition.
