Oval Chinese Porcelain Dish – East India Company – 18th Century
Artist: Compagnie Des Indes
A beautiful oval Chinese porcelain dish, known as the East India Company dish, dating from the 18th century (Qianlong period). This dish features a rich polychrome decoration in the Imari style, combining underglaze blue, iron red enamels, and greens, depicting a stylized floral motif with lotuses, foliage, and scrolls. The rim is decorated with floral reserves on an intense blue ground, typical of Chinese wares intended for the European market. The reverse is decorated with scattered floral motifs, and the background shows wear consistent with the age of the piece. Good overall condition for 18th-century porcelain. Normal wear consistent with age, with no cracks or apparent restoration. 34 cm long x 28 cm wide
