The Faun With Cymbals, Large Bronze, 19th Century, 55 Cm Tall, Antique Style Statue/sculpture
Exceptional 19th-century bronze depicting a faun playing cymbals. This is the Faun with Cymbals, a reproduction of an antique marble sculpture housed in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and discovered by Isaac Duchemin around 1850. It boasts a beautiful patina and is quite large, measuring 55 cm in height. It bears a Vatican signature, typical of workshop bronzes produced in an antique style in 19th-century Italy. A very fine piece. Height 55 cm, maximum width 30 cm, base 25 x 20 cm. The patina is in very good condition, with a single, tiny chip on the base of the insignificant stand.
