German reservist's stein from the 3rd Foot Artillery Regiment (Fuss Artillerie Regiment Nr 3) of Mainz, dated 1905-1907, SCN25CHO002. White porcelain stein with hand-painted decoration. The decoration features a translucent image of a reunion between a soldier and his fiancée against a rural backdrop, including a church and a factory. The soldier is returning to civilian life, where he will marry and work. The stein bears the name of the soldier, SCHMITT. The lid has an eagle-shaped finial with a ring on its beak. The stein is beautifully colored and depicts a scene of maneuvering around a cannon and firing various cannons. Two soldiers are shown on the lid, one wearing a cap and the other a spiked helmet, each holding a rifle. In good condition, but with a small crack on the neck. Cracks at the bottom, see photos. Marked with the Fuss Artillerie Regiment Nr 3 of Mainz and dated 1905-1907. The lid is original, but the retaining ring around the handle is damaged. Dimensions approximately 32 x 12 cm.
