Yema Superman 980 Feet Automatic Men's Wristwatch 24.11.17 Ftn25sup001
Yema SUPERMAN 980 feet automatic 24.11.17 FTN25SUP001 men's wristwatch. The famous SUPERMAN watch from the 70s. Made by the great French company YEMA. Made in France. On May 12, 1967, YEMA filed a patent concerning a rotating bezel locking device and gave birth to the first Superman model that would be equipped with it. The Superman then became the first mass-produced watch waterproof to a depth of 300 meters... This 24.11.17 model has a blue dial, with straight hour markers and drilled lugs, a FE France Ebauche 5611 caliber movement, a Bakelite bezel, and a rare bezel lock without a window. This model likely dates from the early 1970s. Iconic and rare watch. Dimensions: Case dimensions 40 x 48 mm, excluding crown and including lugs; Thickness 14 mm; Maximum strap length 18.5 cm, but extendable; Lug width 19 mm. Movement - Mechanical: Manual winding mechanism, sound, without any trace of oxidation or internal moisture. FE France Ebauche 5611 caliber, which corresponds to early 1970s production. FE logo in a profile of the French map, see photo. French mechanical movement, with a date window at 3 o'clock. Date function is working. This watch has not been serviced; it is running, but It can stop; all parts are original with an excellent mainspring and a fully active and functional automatic winding mechanism. Therefore, a very simple service is all that the buyer can expect. Everything is strictly original; no parts have been replaced. Dial and Hands: Metallic blue dial with "Y YEMA SUPERMAN PATENT PENDING 990 FEET AUTOMATIC" markings. The dial is in perfect condition. Dial with very large, square-shaped hour markers. The dial has some minor losses of coating around the edge; see photos. The hands are strictly original and in perfect condition. It features a magnificent two-marked seconds hand in red and green. Crown: Original crown in good condition, functional for setting the time and winding, in beautiful condition. Crown with its rare windowless locking system. Case, Bezel, and Back: Shows acceptable scratches and wear typical of a 1970s pre-owned watch. Case made of Good condition, see the numerous photos. The case has drilled lugs; note that the lugs protrude from the case, so you should consider replacing them with more suitable models. The bezel is in good condition, but shows oxidation at the 12 o'clock position and in spots around the edge, see photos. Please note, the bezel does not rotate; it is locked. Oxidation has been noted between the case and the bezel. However, it can undoubtedly be unblocked; the mechanism is easily removed from the case for long-term immersion in an oil bath, which will aim to permanently unblock the bezel. The screw-down case back is in good condition, with numerous quality markings and, most importantly, the watch model number "24.11.17". The crystal is cracked, due to age, but perfectly original. Ideally, it should be replaced; it is not drilled. However, it still functions. The bracelet is entirely mechanical and brand new, but comes from a 1970s stock and perfectly matches the watch. A good investment... A rare and highly sought-after model that will only increase in value over the years. We do NOT guarantee ANY watch against immersion; we sell collector's items, and the buyer must take care of them. Note that with vintage watches, buyers can expect to adjust the timekeeping; this is the buyer's responsibility. by a professional and at the buyer's expense, indeed, during transport (although the package will be perfectly protected, it is possible to observe this simple, classic need for adjustment, even though the watch may have already been serviced and was sold with the mention "serviced").
