Pair Of Bronze Candlesticks/candle Holders - Italy - 17th Century
A pair of cast bronze candlesticks, dating from the 17th century, likely of Italian origin. They rest on a stepped triangular base, typical of Italian Baroque production, surmounted by a turned baluster stem and a wide circular socket with a central conical finial. The surface displays a beautiful antique patina, with traces of natural oxidation and signs of wear consistent with their age, including wax residue and even wear. The workmanship reveals early casting techniques, with irregularities and hand-finished details characteristic of the period. Note: the original small feet are missing, which does not, however, detract from the overall stability or the strong decorative presence of the set. A rare and decorative pair, perfectly illustrating the aesthetics and craftsmanship of 17th-century Italian workshops.
