Pair Of Candlesticks With Dolphins, Gilt Bronze, 19th Century
These two bronze candlesticks, with their distinctive two-tone patina, date from the early 19th century, the First Empire period. The two bronze dolphins, with their medal-like patina, support gilt bronze candle holders decorated with fish and fleur-de-lis. The leaf-shaped bases are also gilt bronze. The dolphins' bodies are beautifully chased, and the gilding is in very good condition. These are both useful and decorative objects for refined interiors.
