We are delighted to offer this exquisite parcel-gilt scent bottle made in France during the mid-late 19th c.

The bottle exudes opulence, splendour and the highest degree of artistry of fine silversmithing of the 19th century in one package. Upon holding it in hand, its solid gauge and quality can be appreciated with a very hefty and sturdy feel.

Its entirety has been marvellously embellished with ornate scrolled foliate motifs that have been hand-chased and engraved. Parts which have been left without chasing form cartouches which have been intricated engine-turned (guilloché) with a wonderful honeycomb pattern. Whilst it shows signs of surviving through the ages, a light parcel-gilt design remains with beautiful highlighting of certain areas in gold.

The top features a most decorative and sculptural hinged lid with further floral and foliate design. A glass stopper is also present on the inside.

Overall, a splendid and exemplary piece demonstrating superb quality regardless of the object's size/utility - a true testament to the opulence and craftsmanship of the era. Perfect for the uncompromising collector or as an exquisite gift for someone special.

This piece is marked with French marks on the base with a boar's head mark.

Great Condition -  The bottle is in great antique condition without any major issues/damage. Some minor surface scratches and wear commensurate with age with the parcel-gilding being light. A small chip in the glass stopper but still remains intact.

We aim to overemphasize and state these issues (if any) to avoid disappointment and thus please rest assured they are not significant nor affect the usage of the items.
