Formerly belonging to the cavalryman Lefebvre, a dragoon of the First Empire. Made of bleached buffalo hide, 6 cm wide, composed of three sections joined by brass rings (5.5 cm diameter, 6 mm ring thickness). The right section folds back on itself and fastens with a double brass button. This section, when folded, measures 49 cm. The central section measures 18 cm and is sewn to the trapezoidal bayonet lug, 17.5 cm high, 18.5 cm wide at the top, and 5.5 cm wide at the bottom. A gusset with a brass buckle for attaching the bayonet scabbard strap is sewn to the front. The left section is 21.5 cm long. The right section ends with a brass ring with a rectangular eyelet for attaching to the belt buckle hook, 7.2 cm high and 2.5 cm wide. The left-hand section ends in a rectangular loop, hollowed out in the center, leaving only a smooth frame all around, 1 cm wide, 7 cm high, and 8.8 cm wide including its curve. It is complete with its two-pronged loop and hook, and its two fastening buttons. The suspension straps are made of white buffalo hide with brass fittings (3 cm wide, 24 cm and 91 cm long). They both end in a rectangular loop with a single prong, 4.5 cm high, 3.8 cm wide. In perfect condition for a piece of First Empire troop equipment. France. Sold with certificate.
