Model by Paul Dubois (1829-1905), a renowned French sculptor and painter from Nogent-sur-Seine, who died on May 23, 1905, in Paris. Paul Dubois studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris under the sculptor Armand Toussaint (1806-1862). Several of his works are now preserved and exhibited, notably at the Musée d'Orsay. In painting, he distinguished himself primarily with portraits. Marks and inscriptions on the work: F.
