Bronze sculpture representing the allegory of Wisdom, a seated figure in meditation, here in the form of an old man immersed in reflection and study, the very symbol of Wisdom. The concentrated expression, the introspective posture, and the meticulous modeling of the drapery. Model by Paul Dubois (1829-1905), a renowned French sculptor and painter from Nogent-sur-Seine, who died on May 23, 1905, in Paris. Paul Dubois studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris under the sculptor Armand Toussaint (1806-1862). Several of his works are now preserved and exhibited, notably at the Musée d'Orsay. In painting, he distinguished himself primarily with portraits. Marks and inscriptions on the work: F.
