Painter (born in Haguenau on June 19, 1918, died in Strasbourg on October 1, 1981). Student and later professor at the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts from 1947 to 1976. He received the City of Strasbourg's First Prize and the City of Paris's Arts and Industries Prize upon graduating. Member of the Alsace Academy and the AIDA (Association of Artists and Directors of Arts). He created stained-glass window designs for the Ott company, religious paintings (a triptych in the Saint-Wendelin Chapel in Rosheim, 1978), illustrations in a modern figurative style, and murals (in the Catholic Church of Oberbronn), a discipline he taught until his retirement. The painting is on hardboard. The reverse is countersigned and dated April 4, 1959. The artist's work is represented in the Strasbourg Museum and he enjoys an international reputation.
