Hussar Cavalry Sabre, Model XI. First Empire. Brass guard with three branches, long-tailed pommel; Wooden hilt covered in calfskin with brass studs. The main guard branch is stamped "VERSAILLES," with the "B" of Director JJC Bareau, from February 1812 to July 1813. Curved blade with fullers, the back engraved "M future Imple de Klingenthal July 1813." Blade length 88 cm, stamped at the ricasso with a "K" under a star for J.L. Krantz, inspector from March 1812 to August 1814; an "L" for FL. Lobstein, reviewer from June 1804 to July 1821; and a "B" within a laurel wreath for JG. Bick, first-class controller from 1812 to May 1815. Scarlet sword knot. Steel scabbard with two steel suspension rings. In very good condition. Width at the ricasso 3.7 cm. Overall length 107.5 cm. France. First Empire.
