The Prodigal Son and the Swine, plate no. 6 from the Pastorales (also known as the Animals), a series of 14 engravings by Boetius Adamsz Bolswert (1580-1633), after Abraham Bloemaert (1564-1651). This is an original engraving by Bolswert, not a copy, and numerous copies exist. Major museums, such as the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Rijksmuseum and the British Museum, hold original copies of this print, but most examples that appear on the art market are copies.
