Tsuba in chiselled sentoku by the daruma sculptor assisted by an apprentice, depicting an oni head; a tree is chiselled on the reverse; the whole is enhanced with shibuichi, shakudo, silver, gold and copper.
Seppa Dai signed ‘Yamashiro-no-kuni Tenpō’, which means Yamashiro Province (山城国), followed by the name of the blacksmith (天法).
Two collection numbers appear on the piece.
