"Orientalist Watercolor Of Algiers At Night By Simone Forge (1911-2003)"
A painter originally from Pas-de-Calais (Hénin-Liétard). A student of Marius Chambon, who founded the Berck Society for the Encouragement of the Arts in 1933, he settled in Algeria in 1942 and established a drawing school. Simone Forge, like her teacher, painted the landscapes of Pas-de-Calais and traveled to Algeria. An artist ripe for rediscovery, whose paintings and watercolors we have in our shop. Unsigned, from the artist's family.
