Infantry Officer's Sabre, Model 1845, Second Half Of The 19th Century.
Chiseled gilt brass hilt. Guard with a single hollowed branch and a lanyard hole, short-tailed pommel, overhanging guard and shell guard, quillon with openwork floral decoration. Horn grip with copper wire inlay.
Beautiful, slightly curved blade with fullers and hollowed sides, single-edged, ending in a fish-tail point. Marked "Manufacture Chatelleraul 1871 mle 1855". Length 95 cm. Blade 77 cm. Natural leather sword knot.
Steel scabbard with a single suspension ring, molded scabbard opening.
Good condition, with signs of use. Second half of the 19th century.
