Ange Falchi (1913-1989), born in Vence, was a painter and sculptor. He graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts. He exhibited at the Galerie Ras-Allard in Nice in 1954, at the Salon des Surindépendants from 1955 to 1956, and at the Galerie Bernheim in Paris in 1957. Ange Falchi is best known for his monumental sculpture "Solarius," commissioned by Brazil and inaugurated in 1967 in Brasilia. He exhibited his paintings and sculptures at the Musée Rodin in Paris. He has had numerous exhibitions in France and abroad, notably in Brazil. His works have been acquired by various museums, art foundations, and private collections. An exceptional public auction was held in his honor shortly before his death on March 1, 1988, at the Hôtel Drouot auction house, conducted by auctioneers Tilorier and Beaussant. The artist died the following year.
