Henri Fernandez, fish-shaped wall light signed on the tip "Henri Fernandez". Brass with inlay of a large agate stone and a glass cabochon. Circa 1970. Length 44 height 55cm in brass After studying architecture in Paris, Fernandez began his career working for French designer Jean Prouvé. He later worked for other renowned designers and architects, including Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand. In the 1950s, Fernandez began working for the French automobile company Facel Vega, where he designed the interiors of the brand's luxury cars, including the famous Facel Vega HK500. He also designed interiors for yachts, airplanes, and hotels. In 1960, Fernandez established his own design agency, where he continued to design interiors for residential, commercial, and institutional projects. He worked for many prestigious clients, including French President Georges Pompidou. Henri Fernandez received numerous awards for his work throughout his career, including the Prix de Rome in 1948 and the Grand Prix National de l'Architecture in 1982. His elegant and innovative creations continue to inspire designers worldwide.
