"Victor Paillard. Bronze Lamp. Signed. H-71cm"
Bronze Lamp Signed Victor Paillard. Total height 71cm. High-quality bronze. Victor Paillard was the son of Charles Paillard, a small landowner, and Denise Louise Victoire de Chaumont. While staying with his sister, Mme Baudin, in By-Thomery (Seine-et-Marne), his artistic talents were noticed by the Count of Guzmán [Which one?], who sent him to Paris to further his studies. After attending the Royal Free School of Drawing and training as a chaser, he became a student of Jean-François Denière and a collaborator of Ferdinand Barbedienne. Quickly recognized as one of the best bronze founders of his time, he established a company specializing in art objects and furniture around 1830, which employed up to one hundred people by the mid-19th century. He received numerous official commissions, notably for the decoration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building on the Quai d'Orsay in Paris. Exhibiting in France and abroad, he was appointed a member of the jury for the 1855 Universal Exhibition in Paris, and exhibited out of competition. https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Paillard We guarantee a 100% refund (excluding shipping costs) if you are not satisfied with your purchase.
