An antique photograph from the late 19th century offering a general view of Florence, Italy. This vintage albumen print, mounted on card, bears the stamp of the photographer Carlo Ponti. Carlo Ponti (1823–1893), a Swiss-born optician and photographer, settled in Venice around 1848, where he opened an optical shop renowned for the quality of its instruments.

He collaborated with several photographers and was appointed official photographer to King Victor Emmanuel II in 1866. This is an original photograph, not a reproduction. Condition as shown in the photographs: signs of wear, soiling, and patina consistent with age; antique card. Carefully packaged for shipping with rigid protection.
