Gabriel Lemonnier Covered Vase In Enamelled Earthenware 19th Century

Artist: Gabriel Lemonnier
Covered vase in glazed earthenware signed Gabriel Lemonnier, active at the end of the 19th century. The decoration presents polychrome flowers in relief on a cloudy background, characteristic of the productions of Lemonnier and J. Houry, prize-winners at the Vienna World's Fair in 1873. The mount rests on leaf-shaped feet ending in eagle claws holding a ball, an ornamental motif emblematic of the eclectic taste of the late 19th century.
