Originating from one of the prestigious rooms of the famed Hôtel Negresco in Nice (France), this exquisite side cabinet stands out for its exceptional craftsmanship and richly detailed decoration. Created by the master cabinetmakers of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris, it is a refined example of early 20th-century French savoir-faire.
The piece features a door adorned with a high-relief medallion showcasing a floral motif in rosewood marquetry, topped by a frieze drawer. It is framed on each side by Corinthian columns with finely chased gilt-bronze capitals and bases, their shafts executed in striking sea-green marble. The ensemble is further enhanced by superb gilt-bronze ornamentation and a matching sea-green marble top.
The sides are embellished with bronze medallions depicting goddess heads surmounted by shell motifs, adding a mythological and elegant touch to the cabinet.
Inside, a shelf provides discreet and practical storage.
An original, highly decorative piece with a luxurious and timeless presence, it is offered in very good condition, having been carefully preserved over the years.
A rare opportunity to acquire a distinguished work of French decorative arts, imbued with the history and charm of one of the French Riviera’s most iconic landmarks.
