Large Nguba Braided Shield From Congo
These NGUBA basketry shields from the Oubangui region in the Republic of Congo are found in the Bantu and Ngombe ethnic groups. the braiding is executed with great finesse and ancestral know-how. The object is very decorative and can be hung on a wall or displayed on a base. A few small gaps are to be noted on the perimeter due to its age but do not detract from its authentic and very graphic character.
