Dupuy, one of the many pseudonyms of Galien-Laloue, a celebrated Parisian landscape painter, often featuring figures and scenes of elegant Parisian neighborhoods. He belongs to the French School of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He varied the tones of the sky, the appearance of the trees, and the light according to the seasons, populating his scenes with figures. He participated for many years in the Salon des Artistes Français and held numerous exhibitions. Several of his works are in French museums as well as in New York.
