The central scene depicts bowls symbolizing abundance, surrounded by putti with exotic birds and bouquets of flowers, painted in grisaille and enamels. Wooden frames. Claude Riquier (1835-1878) was a Parisian stained-glass artist, although originally from Auvergne. A student of E. Didron and collaborator of the designer Louis Steinheil, he is also known as Riquier-Vellaud following his marriage to Anne-Elise Vellaud in 1859. He created stained-glass windows for the Church of St. Etienne du Mont (the story of Saint Genevieve in 1869 and 1877). His work can also be found in Poitiers with a stained-glass window for the town hall dedicated to Eleanor of Aquitaine in 1874, and in La Membrolle-sur-Choisille in the Church of Notre-Dame des Eaux. In 1872, he published advertisements presenting himself as a "creator of stained glass windows for private apartments." In 1878, he participated in the Universal Exhibition.
