Magnificent Cicim, pronounced "jidjim," originating from Mut, located in the Taurus Mountains of southeastern Anatolia. Cicims are pieces that are both woven and embroidered. A second weft thread is used to create the patterns across the entire surface. The central field features a geometric and highly graphic composition with a series of interlocking stylized ram's horn motifs. A beautiful harmony of vegetal hues. Circa 1920.
