"Maffrash Shahsaven. Persian. Circa 1920. 110 X 42 Cm"
A captivating fragment of a Shahsaven Maffrash from Persia. This is actually one of two large Maffrash panels. Maffrash are the largest carrying bags formerly used by the nomadic populations of Persia and the Caucasus. Often embroidered or using the Sumak technique, this type of object is much more rarely woven like this one. The colors are very soft and in perfect harmony; the piece is captivating. Circa 1900-1920. Perfect condition. Dimensions: 110 x 42 cm. Interested in this type of rather rare piece? Contact us; our collection includes several dozen. Laurent, Beauty of Kilims
