A faience bust depicting, in a rather naive style, a high-ranking military officer identifiable by his upturned collar, neatly aligned buttons, and the cross of the Legion of Honour. The person represented is undoubtedly Napoleon Bonaparte.
This is therefore a piece of popular faience produced to perpetuate the Napoleonic legend.
