19th-Century Pastoral Painting "Landscape with Figures" – Oil on Canvas with Gilded Frame
This elegant 19th-century pastoral scene, painted in oil on canvas, depicts a group of rural figures immersed in a bucolic landscape. At the center of the composition, beneath a large tree, a young woman rests while a shepherd, depicted standing in traditional dress, warns a young peasant who is attempting to steal the contents of the girl's basket not to make any noise.
In the background, a female figure crosses a hilly path. To the right, a small flock of sheep enriches the scene, evoking harmony and rural life.
The warm palette and atmospheric rendering recall the Romantic and late-Classical pictorial tradition, with particular attention to naturalistic details and the narrative gestures of the figures.
The painting is presented in a gilded frame, which enhances its tones and depth.
This is a copy of the painting by the painter Zuccarelli Francesco (Pitigliano, 15 August 1702 – Florence, 30 December 1788).
Condition: Good, with minor signs of aging on the painted surface, consistent with the age of the work, and a small tear elsewhere (shown in the photos). Dimensions: 117.5 x 87.5 cm - canvas 100 x 70 cm An ideal work for collectors and period furnishings, capable of adding atmosphere and charm to any space.
