"Lalique France - Molded Glass Bowl – Hesperides Model "
Lalique France - Molded Glass Bowl – Hesperides Pattern. This Lalique France bowl, Hesperides pattern, is from the early post-war production, circa 1945–1950. Originally created by René Lalique in 1931, this version bears the signature “Lalique France,” engraved under the base, characteristic of pieces from the transitional period immediately following the glassmaker's death. This bowl is made of molded glass with a magnificent decoration of stylized foliage in relief, acid-etched with a satin finish, typical of late Art Deco aesthetics. The contrast between the silky satin finish and the transparency of the glass particularly highlights the highly structured circular motif of the Hesperides pattern. This particular piece, in glass, was produced for a very short period before the definitive switch to crystal under Marc Lalique. Please note some minor chips (see photos). Viewable at Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
