Crystal and gilt bronze casket.
Dimensions: H. 8; W. 11; D. 7 (cm).
France, circa 1820.
Casket or box, sarcophagus-shaped, in mounted crystal. It rests on four palmette feet. The quadrangular mount is knurled with sunflower friezes at the bottom and floral arabesques, all knurled. Very fine burnishing. Cornucopia-shaped keyhole escutcheon on the front. The crystal is finely wheel-cut with diamond points, crosshatching, striations, and ribs.

Condition report: minor chips and very slight wear consistent with age. No key.
