"Virgin And Child (primitive)? "
A painting on a wooden panel depicting the Virgin Mary seated, holding the infant Jesus standing on a low wall, who is offering her an apple. A landscape in the style of Italian Renaissance painting is visible on either side of Mary's seat. The panel was backed with parquet flooring in the 19th century and is framed in an early 19th-century blackened, molded wooden frame. It measures 26 x 20.5 cm. Two vertical cracks and some flaking are visible in the photographs.
