Wilhelm Trübner (1851-1917) was a German painter of the late Munich school, a member of Leibl's circle. He turned away from academic conventions and studio lighting to embrace realist, naturalist, and then impressionist movements. Renowned for his landscapes, he focused on the power of contrasts. His paintings can be seen in 47 museums.
