Art Nouveau Copper Gui Box With Two Patinas, Suitable For Jewelry, Cards, Or Other Items.
A lovely Art Nouveau copper box with two patinas, red and yellow, decorated with mistletoe in incisions and appliqués. It opens with a hinge to reveal an interior lined with its original velvet. This box was therefore intended for storing fragile or precious objects! The lid bears the monograms MN (applied) and JE (incised). It is in very good original condition. Interior dimensions: H 2.5 cm x W 16.5 cm x D 8 cm. The mistletoe motif, a symbol of happiness, is superbly executed here, in a typical Art Nouveau style. Very high quality.
